Host Their Second Biennial Celebration for the Arts in Baltimore, Maryland

Baltimore, Maryland — December 3, 2014 – Charm City Pearls Foundation, Incorporated (501c3) in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated – Psi Phi Omega Chapter will host a celebration for the Arts at The Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore, Maryland on February 21, 2015 at 5:00PM.

Known for its many contributions to all facets of the Arts and for the multiple successful Artists it has produced, Baltimore, Maryland will be given the stage it deserves honoring its legacy, heritage, and successes, while encouraging greater youth engagement in the Arts. This celebration will be held in the spirit of service, as funds raised will be dedicated towards providing quality programs for the residents of Baltimore City.

This black-tie affair will include a VIP Awards Reception honoring the individuals in Alpha Kappa Alpha as well as Baltimore, Maryland who have achieved admirable success and made a tremendous impact in the Arts. These honorees and associated awards include:

• The Late Dr. Nathan M. Carter Arts Lifetime Achievement Award
• The Late Mary Shy Scott Advancements in Arts Education Award
• Norma Solomon White Trailblazers in the Arts Award
• Jan Spivey Gilchrist Visual Arts Award
• Jada Pinkett Smith Applied Arts Award
• Phylicia Rashad Performance Arts Award

The event will culminate with a featured performance by multiple 10-time GRAMMY® Award-winner, songwriter, actor, author, philanthropist, entrepreneur 
and activist Chaka Khan.
